I have over 4 years experience of working in audio production on a variety of programmes and genres.
As a freelance audio producer, I have been part of a number of different projects including sound design for adverts, podcasts, live radio programmes and audio books. My most notable projects have been The Idea on BBC Radio Wales, Richard Parks: Antarctica and my very own podcast, Think Tank: The Podcast.
Work experience includes BBC Radio 4 and 5 live, BBC Radio Wales, Communicorp UK, World Radio Paris, Wireless Studios (part of NewsUK) and Bengo Media.
From my time at MediaCityUK in Salford and later on at Radio Wales, I have been trained extensively to use software such as Proteus, iBroadcast, dira!, PhoneBox 4 and Open Media.
I am well versed in a number of DAWs / Editing software, mainly Adobe Audition, Audacity, Logic Pro X, Burli, dira! and others.
From 2016-17 I was Station Manager of Xpress Radio, overseeing a committee of fourteen who keep the station running to a high standard. This time saw Xpress Radio flourish internationally, with the start of our Canadian Programme Exchange. This is an initiative I am really proud of – partnering us with two student stations in Montreal, Canada. We also have had successes with our coverage of the US election in 2016 and our yearly festival, Xpresstival held at Club Ifor Bach in Cardiff. During my time in student radio I presented live shows such as ‘The Clinic’ , ‘The Friday Show’ and ‘Friday Live’, as well as guest presenting and producing on other programmes. I also co-founded Xpress Radio Drama which, in 2017, won bronze for Best Speech Programming.
